Here are my completed Fawkes Socks. I finished them at the end of December while in SC. I knitted them in the medium weight STR colorway *Hot Flash* on size 1 needles. I wore them for the first time last night and they are very warm and comfy!
Can you say M-A-L-A-B-R-I-G-I-O? I definitely did when my sister Mary Beth and I visited Island Knits in Pawley's Island, SC. This was my first live encouter with this yarn and it just jumped into my basket - all 3 hanks! I am going to be knitting this yummy yarn into a shawl that MB is going to be creating for us. The square buttons go with it. I also picked up the Jay Jitterbug yarn. It was the only one there and I snatched it up. I've been loving this yarn color ever since Kim knitted her Jay socks. The best part of this yarn purchase was that everything was 20% off.
OMLORD! Only you would do the math to know exactly how many stinking stitches you've done. I am rofl. I think I am now developing a headache from too much thinking here. Very luscious looking thermal. Mine is still in its baggie. I have to finish my seaming & zipper on CPH tomorrow first. Mayhap I won't even make the thermal...much too many stitches for me I'm thinking. Malabrigo is calling her Siren call to me. I think I'll answer her.
ReplyDeleteYour stuff looks super gorgeous. I am jelly-jelly-jealous. I have not gotten a chance to make anything sweater related sice I started making these hats. LOL!!! But, isn't that always the case? I can't wait to see what that Malabrigo will turn into. It feels like butter.
ReplyDeleteHarmony wood needles, huh? I think I may have to get some for my upcoming flight for my vacation. I just may get a chance to start my gathered pullover after all.
I'm impressed you did the math to figure out how many stitches. WOW! I love the Fawkes socks. That pattern showcases Hot Flash beautifully. Is the Malabrigo colorway you bought called SnowBird? I have some of that in the stash. We need to meet up for lunch soon.
